Default would i like this game?

honestly, never have i found a game like this that i like. final fantasy? always hated them. world of warcraft? didn't see anything special. everquest? ditto. is this game any different from the above, or should i steer the other way? the way this game is advertised, it seems like something that i'd like, one thing being the leveling up not being as important as skill. how is skill related in gameplay? does this relate to attribute/skill decisions, or does it actually relate to battling? what i'm looking for is an mmorpg type game where in battling it's less about clicking and watching the hero do the move for you and more about executing it yourself.

As far as i know, most if not all mmorpg type games, you are pretty much just standing there watching the computer generated character do all the moves.

Just kidding, but still, most games in RPG style work this way. You click certain skills/spells, the character does his thing, click more spells etc. The only difference i can think of here, is that with PvE you do a lot of running around and quests, battle monsters as you run around, but it's not like FF where you watch the characters do all the moves and all you do is select a few different options and they fight. Here, you can select different mobs, choose different spells, run away, heal, go back and fight, use tactics where you pull mobs away from hordes of other mobs etc etc.
Also included in this is the PvE Co-op modes where by missions and quests can either be run by yourself, with henchmen or the Co-op bit, where you play with other players and use Tactics to defeat certain opponents and it's not all about how much power you have.
PvP on the other hand is all out war against other players in guild type battles to be the best of the best in some cases and other cases, people just like the competition side of it and have a bit of fun doing it.

If you are after some FPS style MMORPG, where you run around building your character, move back and forth and shoot at things, I only know of one type of game but i can't Print it here. This game does have a 1st and 3rd person aspect to gameplay, but most will tell you, 3rd person is the only way to really play. 1st person is just a bit of fun and a nice addition.

I suppose the easiest thing to answer is this. What style of game do you enjoy and get hours of enjoyment out of, and what type of game bores you to tears?

If you enjoy, racing, fps, graphic adventure, sport, but you hate most RPG/MMORPG then maybe this isn't for you.

How ever, if you like strategy, then in a way this is some sort of strategy/tactics game, as in a lot of areas you have to think before you act, but it's still based around RPG/MMORPG style of game play.

Only then maybe you'll have an idea if this is the game for you.

One thing i would suggest, is read a lot more forums and check out a lot more details on the game before you decide to purchase. If you are still unsure, and really don't think it's for you, then you may well be right.

I'm sure you will hear from others shortly with there opinions on this game.

-_- well considering everyone who doesn't like this game is like OMFG WHERE IS MY (insert random feature another mmorpg has) THIS GAME IS TEH SUX. You should like it .

There seems to be a dark period many of the players go through when they start this game. First you're like OMFG THIS GAME PWNS ALL OTHERS. Then the wonder and awe of it wears of and you don't think it's that great, if you keep playing you realize just how great it is.

No one can tell you if YOU will like the game. Even you can't tell if you'll like the game without playing it, based on what I saw and read before I started playing this game, this game is NOTHING like what I thought it would be.

Good luck.
